STICHTING
Established in the Netherlands, Stichting SMA & DMD Kids operates under the highest standards of transparency and Dutch law to safeguard the future of children fighting neuromuscular diseases.
On January 29, 2026, Stichting SMA Kids was officially established before a notary in Rotterdam. The foundation was born out of an urgent, profound necessity: children diagnosed with severe neuromuscular diseases were losing their battle simply due to a lack of financial resources.
Families were attempting to run global donation campaigns entirely on their own, facing insurmountable legal, logistical, and banking hurdles. They needed a reliable, transparent, and legally sound structure to handle funds safely.
Our founders recognized that by establishing a recognized Dutch "Stichting" (Foundation), we could provide the institutional credibility and secure financial management that both donors and families desperately needed. Since that day, our scope has expanded to include both SMA and DMD patients.
